Super kid: Granite Falls senior wants career in nursing

Super kid: Rose Livermore, 17, Granite Falls High School senior

President Rose: Is ASB president. "I want to be in a position to change our school and make a mark on the school."

College now: Taking two college courses: physics and English. Favorite class is calculus.

Over hurdles: Competes in the hurdles for the Granite Falls track team and is captain of the varsity soccer team. Plays right outside midfielder.

Soccer love: "I love the atmosphere and the intensity of the game and our team. We're all one close family."

Calender girl: Stays sane by writing a daily schedule in her planner.

Heading Down Under: Dad's family is from Australia. Has visited Australia several times and wants to return for college. Has family in Sydney and Melbourne and on the Gold Coast.

On Australia: "Australia is a little bit of heaven. It's my favorite place."

Medical plans: Wants to become a nurse. Plans to travel, helping children in Africa, Asia and other parts of the world.

Serving God: Attends The Father's House Foursquare Church in Granite Falls. Teaches church class to 3- to 5-year-old kids and plays the keyboard in the worship band. Dad is associate pastor at the church.

Family ties: Family consists of parents, older sister and younger brother, a sophomore at Granite Falls High School.

Yes, Mom: Mother is a substitute teacher in Granite Falls schools. Even in class, she's still "Mom." "It's fine. We have a good relationship, so she treats me as a student."

Project Mustang: Is fixing her mom's '67 Mustang for her senior project. Is working to redo welding, change wheels and fix gas tank. Car is the same original dark green it was when Mom had it in high school.

For a laugh: Loves comedies. Favorite movies are "She's the Man" and "Tommy Boy."

Role models: Looks up to South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela and Queen Elizabeth. "Nelson Mandela was so humble and it would just be amazing to meet him. It'd be awesome to talk to the queen. You just don't see many female leaders. I'd like to speak to her as a female leader. It'd be really interesting."

Yellow shoes: Loves yellow and wears lemon-colored Converse shoes.
