One of the most exciting aspects of the fall is having my expectations for local football teams get turned upside down.

Without fail, we always have at least a few squads that completely exceed what coaches predicted in The Herald’s preseason coaches’ polls. This year, it seems, there are more surprises than usual.

Which gridiron team has been the biggest stunner so far? Plenty of candidates make a strong case. Tell me what you think by voting in this reader poll.
