  • Home for supper with Greg Atkinson, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 3, $80. Menu: farmers market carrot soup with buttered whole wheat croutons; roast chicken with herbs; whipped potatoes with garlic; gingered green beans; chocolate chip upside-down cake.
  • In your own kitchen, hands-on with Karel Ann Tieszen, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9, $75. Menu: cider-simmered squash soup with cheddar; pork tenderloins with raisin pignolia sauce; simple whole-wheat bread; whole-wheat pasta with goat cheese, walnuts and sun-dried tomatoes; miel madeleines.

  • Bed and breakfast with Teresa Schaudies, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 9, $34.50. Menu: Baked apples; baked oranges; egg blossoms baked with spinach in phyllo, topped with hollandaise; ham roll-ups and apple links; bite-size appetizer variations of egg blossoms.
  • Simply risotto with Paula Erickson, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 14, $37.50. Menu: Roast beef and mushroom risotto; asparagus and proscuitto risotto; tomato parmesan risotto.
  • Winter soups with Richard Worthen, 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 18, $37.50. Menu: cream of acorn squash soup; winter wild mushroom soup; escarole and white bean chowder.
  • Chili cook-off -- contestants arrive at 11 a.m. Oct. 25 with prepared batches of chili; judging 11:30 a.m., customers sample chili from noon to 1 p.m.; judging at 1 p.m.; details at 425-258-4589, www.jmatheson.com.
