Archbishop Murphy picks Fernandez as head boys soccer coach

EVERETT -- Archbishop Murphy announced Wednesday the hiring of Eddie Fernandez as the school's head boys soccer coach.

Fernandez has been involved in soccer for more than 30 years, both as a coach and a player. He was an NAIA All-American at Seattle University and has played with professional clubs such as the Seattle Sounders and the Seattle Seadogs.

Fernandez started his coaching career in 1995 at Forest Ridge High School. He has coached varsity girls and boys soccer at Lynnwood High School, the men's soccer team at Edmonds Community College and has been a varsity assistant for the Archbishop Murphy girls team for two seasons.

Fernandez has lived in the Everett area with his wife Kelley and their two children, Adan and Kaelyn, for the last eight years.

Archbishop Murphy is a member of the Cascade Conference and is located in south Everett.
