Videos: Alicia Keys and Jack White take on James Bond

Posted at 1:21 pm

When Jack White was approached to write a new James Bond theme song for "Quantum of Solace," he quickly accepted the offer.

"You're definitely taking on a responsibility — there's a tradition of powerful music in all these films," White told Rolling Stone. "But that's why I'm involved creatively with music — for challenges like this. That's what I live for."

The result: A duet between Keys and White, with the two trading lines about tricky guns, deceitful women and murderous men. It doesn't all make a ton of sense, but tossed on top of punchy horns, bursts of piano, and rips from a guitar, it will do. Dig it:

Jack White and Alicia Keys - "Another Way to Die" - Video

Finally we get the full video version of the collaboration between Keys and White. The two trade vocals on one of the most guitary James Bond theme songs in recent memory. Despite the video's constant use of computer graphics, the clip is a bit dull, but the jolting music makes up for the tepid visuals.

Ben Folds with Regina Spektor - "You Don't Know Me" - Live on "Conan"

This track off Folds' latest, "Back to Normal," is the most purely pop song on the entire album. While this live version might highlight some of Spektor's problems - she can be a bit too dramatic, no? - it also shows off a pretty lush little tune on the part of Folds.

Radiohead - "Reckoner" - Video

Everything comes full circle in this neatly animated video for "Reckoner." The guys in Radiohead don't pop up in the flesh, but then, that's not exactly unusual for them.
