Beach on his way back ... (updated)

Posted at 8:04 am by Nick Patterson

... At least according to the Chicago Tribune. This story doesn't mention anything about Beach signing, but it doesn't exactly go in depth about the situation. Don't know if Beach is coming straight back or not, but hopefully I'll know more later today.

--- UPDATE 4:45 p.m.

OK, here's a little more on Beach. He's taking a quick detour home to Kelowna, B.C., then is scheduled to return to Everett and rejoin practices on Wednesday. Barring unforseen circumstances, he'll be in the lineup Friday for Everett's home game against Seattle. I didn't get any confirmation from the Tips on whether he signed or not, but based on the fact nothing's been announced, I'm guessing he didn't. Beach's return should immediately make the Tips a better team.

A couple other quick things:

- Left wing Tyler Parker was suspended one game by the league for his kneeing major and game misconduct taken during Friday's 5-0 defeat at Spokane.

- Defenseman Graham Potuer suffered a concussion in that same game on a hit from Mitch Wahl that drew a roughing penalty. Potuer is undergoing the concussion protocol and is doubtful for Friday. Wahl was suspended for a yet-to-be-determined length for the hit.

- Right wing Matt Ius, who missed three games because of a concussion of his own, had been cleared to play and will be back Friday.
