After spending three out of four Friday nights at John Larsen Stadium on the campus of Arlington High School, I was beginning to feel a bit like the personal photographer for Arlington quarterback Jake Parduhn. Every game I went to, the 5’10”, 175 pound junior quarterback and his 29 member Arlington Eagles team ran and passed all over their opponents. Parduhn is a sight not because of his physical attributes but because he just makes plays happen. Flat out, the dude knows how to play the game. In the first game I shot against Glacier Peak, Parduhn had a hand and foot in almost every score. He rushed for three touchdowns and passed for two. In the second game, he rushed for one score and passed for three more, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

And Parduhn’s team, although very small, has very capable players.

It wasn’t until Arlington finally clashed with Lake Stevens two Friday’s ago, that they met their match. Lake Stevens sacked Parduhn nine times and held him to 21 rushing yards. And Lake Stevens quarterback Nick Baker passed for 345 yards and three touchdowns. Arlington lost 45-23.

So last Friday night, I was finally able to point my car in a direction other than Arlington and headed east toward Snohomish to photograph Meadowdale at Glacier Peak. I remember shooting Meadowdale last year and being very impressed by their running back Naji Moore-Taylor. He did not disappoint this year as he put up five rushing touchdowns on 266 yards. The light at Snohomish is very bad and only really usable on the edges. I was lucky enough to get Moore-Taylor breaking to the outside and into the usable light.
