Free health tests for children
Get tested: Shriners Hospitals for Children offers specialty care to children from birth to age 18 for no charge, regardless of a family's financial situation.
That's good news for local kids suffering from orthopedic conditions such as scoliosis, neuromuscular disorders, hand and back problems, limb-length discrepancy, congenital hip problems, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, cleft palate and club foot, among others.
Parents are invited to bring their children for free evaluations at a clinic sponsored by Shriners Hospitals from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Nile Shrine Center and Golf Club, 6601 244th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace.
Appointments are not necessary. Children with treatable conditions will be referred to a Shriners hospital in Portland, Ore., or Spokane for free medical care.
Call Jim Brokaw, 425-774-9611, ext. 611, for more information.
