Man arrested after Everett gun confrontation

EVERETT -- Police arrested a suspect in a dispute involving a gun Tuesday.

Police arrived at the intersection of 24th Street and Broadway about 4:30 p.m., Everett Police Lt. Jim Duffy said.

The dispute apparently started on a bus when a man called the suspect a racial slur. After they both got off the bus, the suspect pulled out a gun and confronted the other man, Duffy said.

The suspect turned the gun slightly away from the victim and pulled the trigger, Duffy said.

Officers were able to recover the gun, he said. The suspect was booked into Snohomish County Jail on felony assault charges.
