Hasselbeck unlikely to play; Frye in line to start

RENTON -- The Seattle Seahawks' injury-plagued offense could be without its leader on Sunday.

Coach Mike Holmgren said Friday that quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is unlikely to play against the Green Bay Packers because his bruised knee has not responded to treatment.

Holmgren added that Charlie Frye is likely to start, marking the 27-year-old's first start since the 2007 opener.

"I've taken every rep this week, so I'll be ready to play," said Frye, who started the '07 opener for Cleveland and was traded to Seattle a few days later.

The only other healthy quarterback is Seneca Wallace, and he's hobbling around on a strained calf. Wallace saw limited practice time Friday, his first action all week.

"It's been a very unusual year," Holmgren said. "You just keep plugging at it, keep going and stay positive."
