Warmer-upper: Hot mulled cider 10/13/08

A season for brandy

Posted at 12:01 am by Jessi Loerch, Herald staff

It's fall. No denying it. If you can't tell by looking outside, here are a few clues from today's paper.

Hot mulled cider. It's hard to get too upset about short days and cool weather with a recipe like this. And if warm cider and cinnamon don't cheer you up, just take advantage of the optional rum, brandy, Tuaca, or rock and rye. You know it's a good recipe when it offers so many options.

The Seahawks are playing again. And losing again. If you're feeling too worked up after Sunday's game, you might want to see the previous suggestion regarding warm brandy.

Postseason baseball. Yes, some teams are still playing baseball. No, the Mariners are not among them. No, we're not bitter. Not at all. Well, maybe a bit, but we wouldn't be if any team in the state would do something that doesn't make the fans cry.

New fall TV.
Three new dramas look worth watching. Just beware that you risk getting yourself addicted to a new show at the height of political ad season. If you're not a wonk, we strongly suggest watching via Tivo -- or with something satisfying to throw at the TV.
