MOUNTLAKE TERRACE – Police are trying to identify a woman whose body was found floating in Lake Ballinger Tuesday morning.
Witnesses reported a possible mannequin in the water near the boat launch in the 23500 block of Lakeview Drive around 10:35 a.m., Mountlake Terrace Police Department spokesperson Joie Worthen said in a press release.
Investigators recovered the body of a young woman.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner and Mountlake Terrace police were still working to identify the victim, Worthen said this afternoon.
The woman is described as in her teens or 20s, white or Hispanic, with longer dark hair, Worthen said. She was dressed in a black, Russell brand hooded sweatshirt, a white tank top with stars and black pants with a gold-colored belt buckle with the number “13.”
She was also wearing a black bandana around her neck and white, Nike tennis shoes.
The woman had piercings just below the lower lip and in her naval. She also had a tattoo on the inside of the right ankle and a gold-colored ring on her right ring finger.
