Super kid / Justine Davies, 18: Scriber Lake High School senior making the most of educational experiences

Scriber fan: Has attended Scriber Lake High School, an alternative school in Edmonds, since her freshman year and loves it. "When I first started, I made tons of friends and got along with all of my teachers. I did great in my classes."

College bound: Studies American government at Edmonds Community College on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the Running Start program. Homework load is an adjustment, but enjoys the challenge. "I love it because you have more discussions in class."

College plans: Wants to be the first in her family to attend a four-year college. Is researching schools now, but hasn't made any decisions. Is considering studying early childhood education, biology or sociology. "I like school and I think it'd be fun ... It'd be pretty exciting. Most of my family after high school just went to work and had a family. It'd be interesting."

Caretaker: When not at school, is often caring for her ill father. Goes to doctor appointments with him and helps with daily tasks.

Oh baby: Three close friends are pregnant and she's a birth coach for one. Plans to be in hospital room for delivery.

Capital adventure: Plans to visit Washington, D.C., in May on a school trip. Has never been to the East Coast and is looking forward to seeing monuments and memorials.

Turtle time: Watched a 5-foot-long leatherback turtle lay 33 eggs on a white sand beach in Costa Rica. Visited the country last spring on a school trip. While touring, swam under a waterfall and helped build a new hatchery for an organization that assists leatherbacks. Scariest part was going on a zip line trip through the jungle. "I'm afraid of heights and that was just amazing to do."

Girl talk: Is a leader in Women of Wisdom, a Scriber Lake group trying to stop aggression in girl relationships. Wants girls to stop backstabbing, name calling, eye rolling and fighting.

Sharing wisdom: For her senior project, is teaching fifth- and sixth-grade girls about Women of Wisdom and girl aggression.

Role change: Is ASB secretary and a cashier at the school store. Was on Scriber Lake's diversity team, helped organize a blood drive at school and helped with Challenge Day, an event where students talk about breaking down social barriers.

Green team: Is developing a project with science club, trying to make the world greener. Plans to enter the project in a competition at Washington State University in Pullman in May.

Clean plate: Never lets food go to waste. Has a reputation for clearing her plate.

Tube time: Enjoys watching "Friends" and "Desperate Housewives" with 19-year-old sister, Jessica. Also has a brother, Joshua, 29.
