SPEEA cuts Thursday talks short with Boeing

The engineers union called off negotiations early today with the Boeing Co. They’ll return to contract talks at a SeaTac hotel with Boeing negotiators tomorrow.

Ray Goforth, the executive director of SPEEA, ended contract talks when “when Boeing rejected every SPEEA proposal on vacation, sick leave, holidays and bereavement leave,” the union said.

From SPEEA’s daily update:

When the meeting was turned over to Boeing to receive the company’s counter-proposals, the Boeing subject expert read from a prepared script that outlined the company’s rejection of SPEEA proposals in Articles 5, 6 and 7 of the Professional and Technical contracts. In rejecting the union’s proposals, Boeing cited its own data that they have consistently refused to share with the union.

SPEEA's contract wiht Boeing ends Dec. 1.
