For gamblers, however, Subprime drew cheers this week. That was the name of a horse that won the ninth race Thursday at the Aqueduct race track in New York. It was the first win in three tries for the 2-year-old filly, but the name made her an instant crowd darling. The horse ran as the favorite and paid $6.30 on a $2 bet. Maybe it's a family connection.
