What a season for local girls soccer teams!

A quick look at the state tournament brackets reveals that six area squads have qualified for this weekend’s semifinals. They are Jackson (Class 4A); Everett and Shorecrest (3A); Archbishop Murphy and Cedarcrest (2A); and King’s (1A).

Some interesting possible scenarios exist in the 3A final four. If Everett (18-2-1) beats Kennedy (20-0-1) on Friday, the Seagulls will play a familiar opponent in Saturday’s championship: Either Seattle Prep (15-3-3) or Shorecrest (15-5-2). Seattle Prep ended Everett’s season the past two years in the state quarterfinals. Everett beat Shorecrest earlier this month in the District 1 championship game.
