Dr. Pepper honors Guns N' Roses deal for free soda

Guns deliver pop: Dr. Pepper promised to give every American a free bottle of soda if Guns N' Roses released its album "Chinese Democracy" this year.

With the disc now set for release, Dr. Pepper is making good.

The long-delayed album is scheduled for release on Sunday at Best Buy and on iTunes, and so, for a limited time, anyone can visit www.drpepper.com for a free 20-ounce.

A coupon will be available for 24 hours, from 9:01 p.m. PST today to 9 p.m. Sunday. After registering, coupons will be mailed to thirsty fans. The coupon expires on Feb. 28, 2009.

For a Herald review of the album, read Good Life on Monday.
