Armstrong makes NHL debut

Former Everett Silvertip forward Riley Armstrong was called up by the San Jose Sharks and is suiting up tonight for his NHL debut. It's been a long time coming for Armstrong, who's been toiling away in the AHL for four-plus seasons. Armstrong had nine goals and five assists in 18 games for the Worcester Sharks this season.
Armstrong thus becomes the fourth former Tip to play in the NHL, joining Peter Mueller, Michael Wall and Ivan Baranka. The Sharks are playing Mueller's Phoenix Coyotes tonight, so it's the first time two former Tips have faced one another in the NHL, though Armstrong and Mueller never played together in Everett.
