Yakima Speedway releases 2009 schedule

Yakima Speedway has released the schedule for the 2009 racing season on Monday. The season open on April 18-19 with the Apple Cup and closes with the 22nd annual Fall Classic set for Oct. 1-4.

The 28-race schedule features many different classes appearing throughout the year. The ASA Northwest Late Model Tour will appear twice, the Outlaw Street Stocks, Limited Late Model Racing Series, the Northwest Legends, West Coast Vintage Racing Association, Northwest Pro 4 Alliance and the Pro 4 Trucks will also race at the half-mile paved oval in 2009.

The regular Saturday night classes will be the fast Late Models, Super Streets, Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Hornets, Youth Hornets for drivers 14-17 years of age and the Bump to Pass. Some divisions were renamed for 2009: the Super Streets were formerly the Super Stock division, Pure Stocks were the Hobby Stocks and the Sportsman division was called the Hobby Sportsman.

2: 1st Round Qualifying Super Late Models and Limited Late Models. Crate Late Models full program: Qualifying, Qualifying Heats, Trophy Dash and Main Event. Race of Champions.

3: Hobby Stock full program including Trophy Dash, Qualifying, Qualifying Heats, and Main Event. Street Stock Qualifying, Qualifying Heats and Trophy Dash. Limited Late Models 2nd Round Qualifying, Qualifying Heats, Trophy Dash and Main Event 125 Laps. Super Late Model 2nd Round Qualifying, Qualifying Heats and Trophy Dash.

4: Street Stock Main Event. Super Late Model 200 Lap Fall Classic Main Event.
