FYI

Learn about your Camano Island neighbors

Utsalady Ladies Aid offers a community Christmas party Sunday on Camano Island.

It begins at 4 p.m. at 78 Utsalady Road.

Join the ladies for free soup, bread, dessert and beverages. There will be entertainment, treats for the kids and a visit from "The Man in Red."

Lake Stevens dinner aids kids

Lake Stevens firefighters host the fifth annual Tips for Firefighters at Ixtapa Mexican restaurant Saturday in Lake Stevens.

It runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at 303 91st Ave. NE, Everett.

Firefighter Pat Cook said there is nothing sadder than the thought of an excited child waking up Christmas morning to an empty stocking.

Firefighters will bus tables and turn customers' tips into gifts for kids.

Group will send donations to troops

Village Community Services Smokey Point women's group seeks donations of baked goods, magazines, personal-care supplies and other items (except aerosol cans or liquids) to send to soldiers overseas.

Items may be dropped off from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Hawthorne Inn Suites, 3210 Smokey Point Drive, Suite 200, Arlington.

For more information, call 360-653-7752 or go to www.villagecommunitysvcs.org.

Saturday fair offers help with parenting

A resource fair is planned for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, 2625 Hoyt Ave., Everett.

Find information on raising children, listen to music, visit with Santa Claus and stay for a door prize.

Please bring a food bank donation.

Take a winter walk on Camano Island

Join Friends of Camano Island Parks on a winter walk Saturday.

Meet at 9:50 a.m. at the junction of Elger Bay Road and Dry Lake Road, just north of Elger Bay Elementary School, 1810 Elger Bay Road.

It's a fairly level trail. Enjoy the trail with a side trip to a beaver marsh platform on the 2.5-mile walk.
