Officials name victims of Snohomish car crash

SNOHOMISH -- The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office on Tuesday identified the two men who died early Sunday in a car crash near Snohomish.

The driver, Jamie Paul Lyon, 39, of Everett and one passenger, Derrick Thomas Kenney*, 27, of Coupeville died as a result of head injuries, the medical examiner said. The deaths were ruled accidental.

Snohomish County sheriff's crash detectives believe the older model BMW in which the men were driving was speeding when it left Riverview Road around 1:30 a.m. and struck a tree, spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

A third passenger, an Everett man, 26, received minor injuries and was taken to an Everett hospital and then released.

The crash remains under investigation.
