Washington Wrestling Reports new rankings

More and more girls are wrestling in this state.
There are 625 girls competing in the sport in Washington this season, compared to 482 a year ago. That’s an increase of about 30 percent.
I recently got those numbers from Jim Meyerhoff, assistant executive director for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. Meyerhoff also said 142 of the 278 schools that offer wrestling have at least one girl on the team. Two weight classes were added for girls this season, so there will now be 11 for postseason girls competition.
Back on Dec. 1 I posted Washington Wrestling Report’s preseason rankings. Now the site, maintained by Dave Gilbertson has updated rankings (team and individual). Here are links.
