College Basketball: Washington small schools
Men
Olympic College 88, Everett CC 85 EVERETT -- Jamil Moore scored 21 points for Olympic (11-1, 3-0 NWAACC), which outscored Everett by eight points in the second half. EvCC (5-8, 2-1) was led by Kamiak High alum Chris Grounds, who scored 25 points and dished out four assists. Monroe High alum Stephen Waltman chipped in 18 points for the Trojans.
Seattle Pacific 82, Montana State-Billings 79 SEATTLE -- Jeff Downs scored 20 straight points for the Falcons late in the second half, but it was two free throws from Casey Reed with 16 seconds to play that sealed the deal as the Falcons (9-4, 2-0 GNAC) hung on to beat the Yellowjackets (5-8, 0-2). Downs finished with 23 points and Reed wound up with 14 points and had a team-high 16 assists.
Western Washington 110, Golden State Baptist 32 BELLINGHAM -- The Vikings (9-2) allowed their lowest point total in 45 years while crushing the Bears (2-17). Redshirt freshman forward Rory Blanche came off the bench to score a game-high 17 points. GSBC, located in Santa Clara, Calif., was led by guard Phil Rossi had nine points for the Bears on three 3-pointers.
Women
Everett CC 58, Olympic College 52 EVERETT -- Ashley Housden had 16 points and seven rebounds for the Trojans (4-9, 3-0 NWAACC) while teammate and fellow Lake Stevens High alum Karissa Tri added nine points and seven rebounds.
No. 18 Seattle Pacific 88, Montana State-Billings 69 BILLINGS, Mont. -- Kelsey Burns scored in 25 points and the Falcons (9-2, 2-0 GNAC) shot a season-high 59 percent from the floor while beating the Yellowjackets (9-4, 1-1). Junior guard Daesha Henderson, a Snohomish High alum, had 12 points and five assists.
Eastern Washington 82, Weber State 68 OGDEN, Utah -- Nicole Scott came of the bench to score 20 points to help the Eagles (8-9, 3-1 Big Sky) beat the Wildcats (5-10, 0-3) and snap a 22-game road losing streak, dating back Feb. 13, 1988.
