Reader poll: Most surprising local basketball team?

First, thanks to everyone who voted in our previous Double Team reader poll. Mariner girls basketball player Brittany Ruscha was the winner.
This week I’m looking at our local basketball standings to find which squads are doing better than expected, based on The Herald’s preseason coaches’ polls. There are plenty of surprises, including the Arlington girls. Herald Writer Scott Whitmore wrote a story about Arlington that was published today. Coaches picked Arlington to finish seventh in the Wesco North but the 8-3 Eagles are in second place.
