Check out The Herald tomorrow for a story about the Lake Stevens Vikings wrestling team and its tradition of traveling across the country in search of elite competition. During three out-of-state adventures this season Lake Stevens logged more than 8,000 miles.
Once again, Lake Stevens is No. 1 in Class 4A in the latest Washington Wrestling Report rankings. Other local teams in the 4A top 20 are Snohomish, Arlington and Kamiak.
Here are links to all the recently updated rankings, which include team and individual listings.
Looks like it could be another huge year for Wesco wrestlers at Mat Classic. Lake Stevens and Snohomish are among the elite 4A teams, but how about individuals? The Vikings and Panthers have a total of four grapplers ranked first in their respective weight divisions:
*112 pounds: Josh Heinzer, Lake Stevens
*130 pounds: Sam Ottow, Snohomish
*135 pounds: Stefan St. Marie, Snohomish
*152 pounds: George King, Lake Stevens
