MARYSVILLE -- A child was airlifted to a Seattle hospital Saturday afternoon after a vehicle struck him.

Medics rushed to the scene at the intersection of 55th Avenue NE and 95th Place NE around 2:40 p.m., Marysville Fire District spokeswoman Kristen Thorstenson said.

The child was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with potentially serious injuries, she said.

Crews closed 55th Avenue NE at 95th Street NE while officials were investigating.
