Follow that bird to EMP
Mark your calendar for May 23 when Big Bird, Kermit the Frog and other beloved Sesame Street characters will be featured in an exhibition at the Experience Music Project in Seattle.
Artist and puppeteer Jim Henson created elaborate imaginary worlds filled with unique characters and environments and even languages and cultures. His work can be heard in dozens of languages and in more than 100 countries.
In "Jim Henson's Fantastic World," visitors peek into Henson's imaginative world through 100 original artworks, including drawings, cartoons and storyboards.
Among the variety of exhibition items are puppets, television and movie props, photographs of Henson and his collaborators at work, and original video productions.
The exhibit includes excerpts from Henson's early career and experimental films.
The exhibition runs from May 23 to Aug. 16 at Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, 325 Fifth Ave. N., Seattle.
