Clinging to a one-run lead and potential no-hitter, Ranyer faced Levin in the bottom of the seventh with two outs and nobody on. Levin laced a shot that was about 3-feet from tying the game, hitting off the outfield fence, good enough for a double, but Everett was unable to bring Levin home, as Arlington escaped with the 1-0 Wesco North win. "I was begging for it to go out," Everett head coach Kyle Peacocke said. "It just didn't quite have the height. Honestly, my hat goes off to Christina. She is the dominant pitcher in the league this year. She was very good tonight." Rayner struck out 17 batters and drove in Arlington's only run in the third inning. In the top of the third, Kailee Basher hit a one-out double, advanced to third on Amanda Lyon's single and Rayner drove home Basher for the game's only run. Rayner was able to put away batters with an array of pitches, ranging from a fastball to a rise-ball, that kept Everett off balance offensively, Peacocke said. "I think the biggest thing is to think contact and having discipline," Peacocke added, "because once she gets ahead in the strike count, she isn't going to give you something to hit. She has a very good rise ball and when hitters start swinging up there, she just keeps throwing it." Peacocke was pleased with his team's defense and pitching as Arlington had eight hits but scored the lone run and Everett committed no errors.
