Cinematic Easter

Over the years, Hollywood has loved making Easter-themed movies -- probably because audiences have tended to love them back. Herald writer Andy Rathbun profiles seven Easter "classics" (and The Buzz believes the quotation marks enclosing "classics" are necessary, by the way).

The Buzz's favorite Easter movie moments are the unintentionally funny ones, such as the goofy cameos in "The Greatest Story Ever Told" -- John Wayne as a Roman centurion? Telly Savalas as Pontius Pilate? Pat Boone as an angel? Well, maybe that last one's not so far off.

But if you need to clear the room after Easter supper today, stick "Jesus Christ Superstar" in the DVD player and turn the volume to "11" whenever the immortal Ted Neeley deploys the piercing vocals that led critics to dub him "the Screaming Jesus."

What are you doing? None of your business, say people who are sick of Twitter and other social networking systems that enable neurotic levels of faceless online interaction.

The Buzz concurs. Now leave us alone while we compulsively download and fiddle with thousands of cool iPhone apps.
