Camano Drive. Pritzl also plans to lead a field trip to two Camano viewing areas from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, beginning at the Terry's Corner park-and-ride, 860 N. Sunrise Ave. The program and field trip are part of a public education series hosted by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks. More info: 360-387-2236; camanobwh@yahoo.com. Granite Falls: Planner moves to clerk's office Darla Reese is scheduled to be sworn in as the city clerk tonight. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 206 S. Granite Ave. Reese served as a part-time city planner for Granite Falls for about two years on a contract basis while working for the Everett firm HBA Design Group. Reese worked for the company for nearly 13 years before leaving. John Burkholder at HBA will now handle planning services for the city. The city has been working without a permanent clerk for several months. Reese, who lives in Granite Falls, formerly served on the city's Planning Commission. Lake Stevens: Dinner dance on Saturday A spring dinner dance is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Cavelero Mid High to raise money for the school music department. The Cavelero jazz band and choir and the Moonlight Swing Orchestra plan to perform. The school is at 8220 24th St. SE. More info: 425-335-3717. Marysville: Tip a cop for Special Olympics Officers from the Arlington Police Department plan to spend lunch and dinner shifts Saturday at the Red Robin restaurant at Smokey Point raising money for Special Olympics of Washington. You can have a police officer be your celebrity waiter from noon to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, 16814 Twin Lakes Ave. Langley: Earth Day celebration planned The third annual Earth Day Celebration at Bayview Corner is set for noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at 5603 Bayview Road, seven miles from the Clinton ferry dock. Admission is free. The event features workshops on sustainable living, composting, bike repair and solar cooking; a seed exchange; live music; and art. More info: 360-321-4145. Lake Stevens: Public assistance counseling People who believe they might qualify for public assistance may make an appointment to see a specialist at the Lake Stevens Family Center. An official with the state Department of Social and Health Services will be on hand for appointments from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays at the center, 1803 123rd Drive NE, behind the library. Available benefits include food stamps, reduced telephone rates, free or reduced lunches at school, and health care for children. Anyone interested also may apply at the state Community Service Office in Smokey Point, 3704 172nd St. NE, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
