Snohomish woman rescued after horse riding injury

INDEX -- Fire crews made their way up Index-Galena Road to help a woman who fell off a horse.

Fire crews and rescuers rushed to Lewis Creek at Index-Galena Road about 6 p.m. to rescue a woman who fell of or was bucked off a horse, Snohomish County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Brand said.

The Snohomish woman suffered minor head injuries and possibly fractured her pelvis. Medics were able to drive all the way up to get to her, Brand said.

Medics drove the woman to a fire station in Gold Bar, where she was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
