The Huskies finished their third to last spring this evening, and there was a bit of news today.
First off, Steve Sarkisian announced today that tailback Terrance Dailey and offensive lineman Allen Carroll, who have both been out of practice for a while, are leaving the team. Carroll, Sarkisian said, "decided that his passion for football is just not there, so he’s going to move on." Dailey, Sarkisian reported, has not met academic requirements.
Linebackers Donald Butler and E.J. Savannah, and tailback Chris Polk were all on the sideline, but none of their injuries are serious. Cornerback Matt Mosley was on the bad end of a hard collision with receiver Jordan Polk, and was slow to get up. And when he did get up, Mosley looked dazed and was held out for the day.
Alvin Logan, who moved from receiver to safety on Monday, worked with the No. 2 defense for part of practice, and came up with an interception of a Ronnie Fouch pass.
As for those uniforms, the new unis long talked about will be on display at Saturday's spring game. Nike didn't get them done soon enough for the team to wear them Saturday, but they'll have samples on display at the stadium.
Sarkisian said not to expect anything too different.
"They’re not that drastic," he said. "Everyone’s kind of hyped this thing up. They’re still purple and gold."
