Woman injured after car flips on I-5

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE -- A Bothell woman accused of driving with a suspended license was rushed to a Seattle trauma center after rolling a car alongside I-5 in Mountlake Terrace on Friday.

Witnesses told officials the woman's car swerved onto the shoulder, hit two trees and rolled just before 11 a.m. near 220th Street SW in the freeway's northbound lanes, Washington State Patrol trooper Brandon Lee said.

It took rescue crews 15 minutes to cut the woman, 27, out of the 1992 Honda Civic, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.

The woman was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Troopers believe she was driving with a suspended license. Inattention may have led to the crash, Lee said.

Traffic was backed up through the area as officials investigated.
