The legacy of William Shatner

Boldly go

Fascinating, Captain: The original crew of the starship Enterprise is back and younger than ever in the latest "Star Trek" film. The new cast is a breath of fresh air for the franchise, says Herald reviewer Robert Horton.

Horton praises the new Capt. Kirk, Chris Pine, for channeling William Shatner only a couple of times. That's good advice for the young actor: Must. Not. Become. Caricature. Of. Self. And. End. Career. Shilling. For. Price. Line.

Sweet deception: A Bellevue man and two others were arrested and charged with mislabeling honey from China that they claimed was from Thailand and the Philippines in an attempt to avoid tariffs.

Authorities were tipped off because the bear-shaped bottles containing the honey looked like pandas.

Sighthounds: A Lynnwood veterinary clinic offers vision tests for service dogs this week. Just how do you test a dog's vision? With The Buzz's Doggie Eye Exam, of course:

When the dog ... it should
sees this ... do this
Squirrel Chase
Mail carrier Bark
Vacuum cleaner Cower
Dog butt Sniff
$250 shoes Chew
