Boeing layoffs: 100 more notices for local workers today

Boeing is handing out another 100 layoff notices today as it tries to reduce the company's workforce by 6 percent this year.
The company annouced earlier this year that it would scrap 10,000 positions in 2009 as the global recession takes its toll.
Boeing workers who received pink slips in March (and were expecting today to be their last day) will get a reprieve until next Tuesday, a company spokesman said Thursday.
