Girl found dead on U.S. 2 identified
EVERETT -- The girl found dead on the U.S. 2 trestle Monday has been identified as Heather Nicole Trickler, 15, of Lake Stevens, the Snohomish County medical examiner said this morning.
Heather's body was found behind a jersey barrier on the eastbound offramp to Ebey Island. The medical examiner ruled she died after being struck by a vehicle.
She was walking along U.S. 2 Saturday night when an unknown driver hit her and fled. Detectives believe whoever was at the wheel knew the vehicle hit someone.
Washington State Patrol detectives are looking for a bluish-green, General Motors-brand pickup truck with a canopy, or an SUV. The likely model years are 1994 to 1999. The vehicle likely has damage to the passenger side and the passenger's side headlamp may be missing. The vehicle also may be missing a passenger side mirror and radio antenna.
Anyone with information is asked to call Washington State Patrol at 360-658-2588 or 360-707-1157.
