    Merchants take two from Kelowna

A strong performance on both sides of the ball propelled the Everett Merchants to 5-2 and 11-3 wins in a doubleheader against visiting Kelowna Sunday afternoon.

Ian Parmley batted 2-for-4 with a double and Chris Sturdivant batted 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI for Everett (3-0) in the first game. Merchants pitchers held Kelowna (1-4) to just two runs and four hits.

In the second game, Zack Miller and Eric Rodland hit home runs and Tony Snow hit a two-run triple. Everett plays Auburn tonight at 7 p.m. at Everett Memorial Stadium.
