More to the story: Snohomish County farms promote agritourism

Life on the farm. These days, it's not exactly a scene from Petticoat Junction - at least not in rural areas just outside Washington's urban core. There are marketing plans to develop, parking lots to create, Web sites to update.

Then there's the actual farming. Someone has to do that, right?

We had a story in Wednesday's paper about six local "agritourism" farms who recently launched the Red Rooster Route, a promotional guide to destination farms in the Arlington area.

Snohomish County farms, many of which have been in families for generations, haven't had it easy during the last few decades. We talked with a few farmers on camera, and here's what they had to say.

Find more information about the Red Rooster Route here. If you're hankering to know even more about Snohomish County agritourism, you can read this series of stories I authored a few years back.
