Arlington: Young aviators scholarship

Out of the Blue Aviation at Arlington Airport is offering Young Aviators Summer Camp for the weeks of July 6-10, July 27-31 and Aug. 10-14.

Kids ages 12-18 who have some interest in aviation are encouraged to apply for one or more weeks of the program. Each week includes hands-on aviation training, a field trip and a flight lesson.

Scholarships are available, and the deadline for scholarship applications is June 22.

Arlington: Flag Day event at museum

The Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Association has scheduled its second annual U.S. flag decommissioning ceremony on Flag Day

The ceremony is set for 1:30 Sunday at the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum, 20722 67th Ave. NE, Arlington.

Old and tattered flags can be brought to the museum between 1 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday.

Camano Island: Salmon barbecue

Tickets are on sale for Camano Senior and Community Center's annual salmon barbecue.

The event is 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.

The cost is $15 for members or $17 for nonmembers.

Sentimental Journey plans to provide the musical entertainment.

Marysville: Break dancing contest set

The Marysville Family YMCA is planning its eighth Annual 360 Break Dance Battle on Saturday.

The contest begins at 6 p.m. at the Totem Middle School gym, 1605 Seventh St. NE.

The competition is expected to draw 20 crews or teams from across Washington and more than 600 spectators.

The 360 Break Battle was originally developed to give kids a chance for leadership roles, volunteer opportunities and a safe place to showcase their talent and skills. The event is completely managed by teens for teens.

The cost is $7 for YMCA members and kids 14 and younger, $8 for others.

Silvana: Fundraiser set Sunday for fair

Organizers of the Silvana Community Fair have scheduled a bingo night fundraiser for 6 p.m. Sunday at Viking Hall in Silvana. A snack bar will be open.

The event helps organizers provide free admission to the Silvana fair, which is set for July 25.

Warm Beach: Fire Station open house

An open house at Fire Station 97 at Warm Beach is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the station, 19727 Marine Drive NW.

North County Regional Fire Authority plans to offer refreshments, games for kids, safety information and fire engine tours.
