Laser lights will add some flash at the Grand Coulee Dam
Visitors to the Grand Coulee Dam can once again learn about the mammoth concrete structure thanks to a laser light show this summer.
The show tells the story of the dam using narration, music and four lasers that draw figures on the face of the dam. The nightly show begins at 10 p.m. in June and July, 9:30 p.m. in August, and 8:30 p.m. in September.
The dam also offers daily walking tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and its visitor center stays open from 8:30 a.m. until an hour after the laser light show begins.
Call 509-633-9265 or go to www.usbr.gov/pn/grandcoulee for more information on activities at and around the dam.
The Grand Coulee Dam is on the Columbia River in central Washington on Highway 155, about 77 miles north of Moses Lake. It is one of the world's largest concrete structures, nearly a mile across and 550 feet high.
