Around the County Arlington: Trail coalition meets todayThe spring meeting of the Centennial Trail Coalition of Snohomish County is set for 7 p.m. today in Hadley Hall, adjacent to the Arlington Boys & Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE. People interested in trails in Snohomish County are invited to attend. The agenda includes progress reports on Centennial Trail work north to the Skagit County line, on the gap in the trail between 152nd and 172nd streets NE, and on Whitehorse Trail work east to Darrington. Everett: Mayor to speak Tuesday with Bayside neighbors Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson is the scheduled speaker at the Historic Bayside Neighborhood Association's meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Everett Public Library auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Stephanson will give an update on city issues and answer questions from the audience. The association also plans a slide show. More info: 425-258-3271. Lake Stevens: City Council to discuss sidewalks The Lake Stevens City Council is scheduled tonight to discuss its study of a possible new sidewalk on Lakeview Drive. The workshop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd St. NE. The city is considering several locations to begin building sidewalks with $500,000 in savings from having library service removed from the city budget. City taxpayers agreed last year to pay a tax directly to the Sno-Isle Library District to run the Lake Stevens Library. Afterward, many people in the city told officials they'd like to see the money go toward sidewalks. Other streets where the city could begin building sidewalks are 22nd Street NE and 123rd Avenue NE. Stanwood: Community grants deadline is July 15 Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation awards community grants to nonprofit organizations that benefit the residents of Stanwood and Camano Island. Grants are available now and applications are due to the foundation on or before July 15. Previous recipients include the Camano Animal Shelter, Josephine Sunset Home and the Island County Sheriff's Office. Grant applications and guidelines can be found at www.s-caf.org.
