Autumn Kegley is not only the owner of Autumn's Framing & Gallery in Edmonds, she is a successful artist in her own right. An exhibit of her watercolors, in a show titled "Path of Fire," is now on display through July 14 at the gallery, located in downtown Edmonds.
Kegley continues exploring themes of human spiritual expression through dance in her current paintings. Fire patterns and moths follow the paths of energy which flow from creative movement and carry the joy of living with passion & love.
Kegley's work draws from nature, as she has always loved biology and botany as well as artistic creation. She would like her art to provide a reminder of the essential physical and spiritual human connection to the natural world. Within our homes we can sometime cut ourselves off from the magic and majesty of the outdoor world, uncreated by human hands.
Describing herself as a romantic, Kegley has been strongly influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite painter's literary visions. Her work leans towards the illustrative tradition they sought to resurrect from the Renaissance. Autumn also hopes to provide a Jungian continuance of mythology in her art, connecting the viewer with nature using current and ancient symbology.
