Edmonds: Transit plan to be discussed

Edmonds is hosting a public open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Brackett Room on the third floor of City Hall, 121 Fifth Ave. N. The city is updating the transportation element of its Comprehensive Plan, which identifies all future transportation projects.

An overview of the plan and potential future strategies are expected to be presented.

It features fresh local food in a restaurant without walls.

Tickets are $100 each and benefit an organization that provides services for children and adults with disabilities. For reservations call 425-334-4071.

Island County: Burn ban starts Wednesday

The summer outdoor burning ban begins Wednesday on Camano and Whidbey islands.

More info: 360-679-7343.

Oak Harbor: Parade to close station gate

To assist in the staging of the Oak Harbor Independence Day Parade, the Maui Avenue gate at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island seaplane base is set to be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The gate is located near the Oak Harbor Marina and Yacht Club. Drivers are asked to use the Torpedo Road entrance instead.
