UW student allegedly filmed up women's skirts

EVERETT -- A University of Washington student from Everett may have taken photos up women's skirts.

The man, 31, allegedly had a spy camera he used to film women at the Seattle campus and at one or more Lynnwood restaurants, according to a police affidavit.

The man first came to the attention of Snohomish County sheriff's detective in November, a court document said. His ex-girlfriend went to police after she discovered what she believed was child pornography on the man's computer.

She broke up with the man after she found the images, the court document said.

Detectives served a search warrant to examine the man's computer. A computer forensic analyst located several photos and videos of minors having sex, the court document said.

The man allegedly admitted he had "illegal" things on his computer and said he struggles with an attraction to child pornography, the court document said.

The detective also found a flash drive that doubles as a "spy camera," the document said. There were several videos taken that allegedly document the man filming up women's skirts.

The videos are being shared with University of Washington police for further investigation.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of possession of child pornography and voyeurism.
