Arlington teen's nude photos posted on MySpace

ARLINGTON – Arlington police spent three months investigating how a local teenage girl’s nude photos landed on MySpace.

Now, they’re trying to find out if the man they believe was responsible had additional victims, Arlington police spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.

Arlington detectives on Tuesday arrested the man, 18, at his home in Selah, Wash., near Yakima, Banfield said.

The man allegedly threatened the girl, a 14-year-old middle school student, using text messages, according to court documents.

“I’m not gonna ever leave you alone til your dead,” one of the messages said, according to a search warrant filed in Snohomish Superior Court.

The man allegedly demanded the girl take nude pictures of herself and send them to him. He then posted the pictures on MySpace pages on the Internet, police said.

The girl sought help from an Arlington school resource officer. The officer worked with detectives and their investigation led to Tuesday’s arrest.

The girl met the man through friends. She used to live in eastern Washington.

After the man’s arrest, he allegedly told police he may have additional victims, Banfield said.

“We don’t know if they’re in our jurisdiction or someone else’s,” she said.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of harassment, dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
