Everett student jailed in pornography, voyeurism case

EVERETT -- A University of Washington student from Everett was jailed Tuesday for investigation of allegations that he took photos up women's skirts and possessed child pornography.

The man, 31, allegedly used a spy camera to photograph women at the Seattle campus and at least one Lynnwood restaurant, according to a police affidavit.

The man first came to the attention of Snohomish County sheriff's detectives in November, a court document said. His ex-girlfriend went to police after she discovered what she believed was child pornography on the man's computer.

She broke up with the man after she found the images, the court document said.

Detectives served a search warrant to examine the man's computer. A computer forensic analyst located several photos and videos of minors having sex, the court document said. Some of the videos appeared to show girls as young as 7 having sex with adults.

The man allegedly admitted he had "illegal" things on his computer and said he struggles with an attraction to child pornography, the court document said.

The detective also found a flash drive that doubles as a "spy camera," the document said. There were several videos taken that allegedly document the man filming up women's skirts.

Some images appeared to have been taken at the UW and at a local restaurant. Detectives interviewed a waitress who remembered the man, the court document said. She said the man called her over to his table several times and didn't leave a tip.

The videos were shared with University of Washington police for further investigation.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on Tuesday for investigation of possession of child pornography and voyeurism.
