Feds announce drug busts in Seattle

SEATTLE -- Federal law enforcement agents in Seattle say they have busted a drug trafficking ring that distributed methamphetamine and cocaine from Jalisco, Mexico, in Washington.

At a news conference today officials said a 14-month investigation resulted in 35 search warrants in the past two weeks in which 31 people were arrested. They are accused of possession and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Operation Arctic Chill also seized 19 pounds of methamphetamine, a quarter-pound of cocaine, 22 vehicles, 23 guns and $600,000 cash.

The raids were conducted at Carnation, Federal Way, Lynnwood, Olympia, Puyallup, Roy, Tacoma, Vancouver and Yelm in Washington and in Oakdale, Calif.
