COLLINS BUILDING

Supporters have failed for years

It's time for the Collins Crybabies to stop their whining. They are having a fit because they didn't get their additional 60 days to raise the millions of dollars it would take to renovate the old big red building. This very small (albeit vocal) group enlisted Richard Sullivan several years ago to "make it happen." He didn't/couldn't. They made the Port of Everett jump through many hoops. The port did what was required of them, all along extending the opportunity to this group to save their precious building with their own money, not taxpayer money.

Over a period of many years, they were unable to secure financing or hatch a feasible plan to transform this unsound building into anything usable. (Could it be because everyone in town except them realizes the building is a mess and financially not salvageable?) Yet they have the audacity to think that if the port would only give them 60 more days, they could magically come up with a form of salvation for the Collins Building.

It's time for the crybabies to dry their tears, realize they lost the battle and move on to something else.
