Fireworks start brush fire in Marysville

Firefighters in Marysville quickly extinguished a brush fire ignited by fireworks late Thursday afternoon.

The fire spread to trees and bushes about 20 feet from a house in the 6200 block of 72nd Street.

The first firefighters on the scene put out the fire before backup crews arrived, Marysville Fire Department spokeswoman Kristen Thorstenson said.

The fire attracted attention from hovering television news helicopters.
