This is possible through a Google translation tool. The library in recent years has added book titles in Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese and Arabic to its collection in order to meet the needs of city residents. More info: www.epls.org. Granite Falls: District adopts strategic plan The Granite Falls School Board recently adopted a five-year strategic plan. Lake Stevens: Outdoor concerts start Thursday The city's annual Music on the Lake series resumes Thursday and runs through Aug. 13. All shows run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at North Cove Park, behind City Hall at 1812 Main St. The bluegrass act Stay Tuned is scheduled to open this summer's series on Thursday. More info: 425-334-1012. Marysville: Meeting on annexation tonight An informational meeting about the planned annexation of a large area to the city of Marysville is planned for tonight. The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. at Marysville- Pilchuck High School, 5611 108th St. NE. The city is planning to add residential areas along Marysville's eastern border, an area containing about 20,000 people, to the city limits later this year. Mountlake Terrace: Chat with city officials Join City Manager John Caulfield and other city officials at 6 p.m. Wednesday for coffee and discussion. Participants can ask questions, provide input or listen to what is happening in the city. The setting will be casual. Snohomish: Business expansion discussion A representative of Snohomish Eye Care Center at 415 Ave. D plans to discuss possible expansion at a planning commission meeting set for 7 p.m. July 15. The representative wants to talk about ways to expand the business, which is located in a single-family residential neighborhood. The issue previously drew dozens of neighbors to a City Council meeting. No decision will be made until the public has an opportunity to weigh in. More info: 360-282-3170. Lynnwood: City earns WellCity Award The city was honored in late June with a WellCity Award by the Association of Washington Cities. The award recognizes cities and towns that demonstrate best practices in employee health promotion. Fewer than 15 percent of cities and towns in Washington were similarly recognized. To win, Lynnwood had to meet each of the nine WellCity standards. Across the state, cities with strong wellness programs pay an average of $300 per year less per employee toward health care claims than cities without programs, according to the Association of Washington Cities.
